What good is a therapist?

There may be times when you have a sense of what needs to be done but you are not able to do it. A time when you feel compelled to break off a relationship but fearful that you may later regret it; when you know that you have acted poorly and need to apologize but don't want the apology to be used against you at a later time; when you know you should probably quit using weed but you justify that you deserve the outlet and so on...

Why do we make resolutions and why only once a year? Sometimes we don't even have a clear picture of what our goal is, and at other times we don't come up with the right path to it.

On days when the sky is overcast its easy to feel low. One of the images that are uplifting for me is from my childhood.

As parents we sometimes take too much responsibility for our child's failings - when they don't do well on a test or they don't have very many friends or  when they behave poorly or even if they are overweight.
